Web portal ciazowy.pl is currently one of the most popular web portal on pregnancy in Poland.
We exist on the web since 2009. We have around 1600 copyrighted articles and essays. Our parental calculators are very popular and they show up as top search on Google. The database of articles is one of the biggest in Poland. Web portal Ciazowy.pl has an informative character – it concentrates mainly on topics of an utmost interest for parents-to-be. Our goal was to create a web portal for pregnant women, young parents as well as couples planning having a baby, which would be a place, where one could always find trustworthy information about pregnancy, labor, motherhood, but also beauty and fashion. Carefully selected and prepared content is presented in interesting way, in result the number of visitors is constantly growing. Monthly our web portal is visited roughly by 250 000 new visitors. We are in contact with our readers and we are trying continuously to meet their expectations by offering them innovative tools and solutions.

Who are the e-volunteers involved in the project? How did you start co-operation with them?
E-volunteers are people working for our organization as part of virtual voluntary work, i.e. voluntary work that is conducted entirely or partly away from organization’s headquarters, via internet, in a remote manner. This form of voluntary work allows to involve people who despite the will to help selflessly cannot always have an direct, personal contact with the organization due to distance or type of work they do or other limitations.
How do you verify the e-volunteers’ competences before they start the co-operation with you?
Before establishing a co-operation we always verify the competences of potential e-volunteers. In case of experts what we are looking for are their formal competences like education and knowledge. Defining those competences and comparing them with needs of our Foundation and our beneficiaries/users is the first stage of the selection. In case of editors we verify at first their competences in creating accessible, understandable content for potential users of our web portal. The next step towards working for the Foundation is a verification of content – on basis of merit, as well as
its orthography and style – before a publication the texts are being corrected by the workers of Foundations who have a specific education background as well as formal competences to do so.
How do you ensure the safety and the quality of the e-volunteers’ work?
The quality of help provided by our e-volunteers is guaranteed first of all by their formal competences verified at the very beginning of our co-operation. Equally, the effects of their work undergo the verification – they are examined by workers of the Foundation educated in the specific area. The two above actions guarantee that the content published on our website is characterized by outstanding quality. It is extremely important for us to assure the security of created texts. Published content therefore always bear name and family name of the author; the citations are marked with different font.
