“We take great pleasure in writing fairy tales and nursery rhymes for children. And that’s despite the fact that our readership does not consist only of the youngest children, but also of their parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents.”

“Bajkownia.org” is a place for people with vivid imagination. Thanks to it writers, poets, people who do not have anything to do with professional writing, and most importantly children themselves can publish their works on-line.

What do e-volunteers do? They supply authors with creative ideas, check spelling and style of texts supplied by them, and create audio-books – they record stories and rhymes, so that they also serve as a learning material; these audio-books are also a great help for blind people and those with impaired eyesight. Apart from all of that, they can be used by Poles living outside Poland, who do not have daily contact with their mother tongue. How did your initiative appeal to so many e-volunteers?

E-volunteers’ duties: creation of an on-line portal and its graphics; portal management; searching for writers and poets, and encouraging them to publish their works as e-volunteers on the Bajkownia.org portal; keeping the content substantive; watching over the correctness of the Polish language being used; analysis of uploaded works; creating audio materials; promotion of the portal among polish communities outside Poland, employees of schools and nursery schools, parents; promotion by means of the radio, television and press; creating, recording and uploading puppet shows. Type of co-operation: a social networking service – no formal agreements, everyone acts voluntarily expressing their willingness to take part in the project via e-mail or Facebook fanpage.

Who are e-volunteers taking part in the project?

These are solely natural persons: writers, poets, masters of the spoken word (reciters), graphic designers, enthusiasts.

How do you verify the e-volunteers’ competences before starting co-operation with them?

The verification process is based on the evaluation of the created works. We provide help from a mentoring female writer for those who want to hone their skills.

How do you care for the security and quality of help provided by the e-volunteers?

We hold a certificate of quality, “Best”, which we were given by The Nobody’s Children Foundation. Apart from that, there is one person who verifies the uploaded works on a daily basis.
